Delaney submits annual report
By Courtney NguyenCorrespondent
GEORGETOWN - As directed by selectmen earlier this month, Town Administrator Stephen Delaney delivered an annual report Monday, about four months later than required by state and town laws.
At a selectmen's meeting Jan. 7, resident Steven Epstein threatened to sue all three members of the board should the report not be done in a timely manner. Selectman Lonnie Brennan then moved that Delaney have a report done by Jan. 28.
According to Massachusetts General Law and town bylaws, the report is to be completed 90 days after the end of each fiscal year. An annual report has not been done in Georgetown since 2002.
"We have a report here that meets the minimum statutory requirements," Delaney said. "We're working on doing reports from 2002 to 2006 now."
