Long-vacant downtown space up for rent

If you're looking for 6,000 square feet of space to rent on State Street, you'll need about $12,000 a month. The vacant space behind Rosie O'Shea's Pub is up for lease, property owner James Lagoulis said. The property was posted online yesterday.

The retail space, which wraps around the former Theory restaurant (Taffy's before that), has been vacant for several years. Last used by the Essex County Sheriff's office while it was relocating, the space was previously home to a children's gymnastics studio, Lagoulis said.

Long-term leases are available, and the property is listed at $12,000 a month, triple net. A triple net lease for commercial properties requires the lesee to pay rent, taxes, insurance and maintenance expenses to the landlord.
